Senior Staff Software Engineer, Firefox Desktop Integrations

Requirements:

• 10+ years experience as a Software Engineer
• Experience with low-level systems programming on at least one major platform
• Solid understanding of C/C++
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with developing on Windows and/or macOS

Nice to Haves:

• Programming experience in Rust
• Additional Linux and/or macOS experience
• Successful contribution to an open source project
• Expertise in compilers pipeline design and optimization
• Knowledgeable about improving compiler performance
• Experience in developing installers for operating systems

What You'll Be Doing:

• Design, develop, and ship Firefox features through installs, updates, and OS integrations
• Lead design reviews and influence technical decisions for Firefox desktop
• Analyze data to increase user engagement
• Investigate and resolve operating systems programming issues
• Assess team priorities and support team consensus
• Mentor junior engineers and improve Firefox quality on Windows and/or macOS
